Egypt: BP confirms third gas discovery in North Damietta Concession, East Nile Delta, Egypt

BP has announced another gas discovery in the North Damietta Offshore Concession in the East Nile Delta, Egypt. The Qattameya Shallow-1 exploration well encountered 37 metres of net gas pay in high quality Pliocene sandstones. Options to tie the discovery back to nearby infrastructure are being studied.

Hurricane Energy has announced that operations on the Halifax well - 205/23-3A - are complete. The Company confirms that the well is an oil discovery with initial data analysis indicating Halifax is linked to the Lancaster field forming a single large hydrocarbon accumulation.

Independent Oil and Gas reports that the licence which contains the Harvey discovery has been extended to 20 December 2017, and that the technical work submitted in relation to its Elgood discovery has been added to the Blythe Field Development Plan as a satellite development.

Senegal: Cairn Energy drills another successful well offshore Senegal

JV partner FAR reports that operator Cairn Energy has drilled another succcessful well offshore Seengal. The VR-1 well, drilled below the OWC for the SNE field intersected a 97m gross oil column across multiple reservoirs with highest net pay in any well drilled to date.

Egypt: BP makes third gas discovery in Egypt's North Damietta Concession

BP has made a gas discovery in the North Damietta Offshore Concession in Egypt's East Nile Delta, its third in the block, it said on Sunday. The Qattameya Shallow-1 exploration well was drilled to a total depth of 1,961 metres in water depth of around 108 metres, the company said.
