Role Purpose

Accountable to VP Technical for the wells related technical assurance and verification including:
  • 3rd parties procedures and policies
  • Wells engineering support to Serica assets
  • Liaises with regulatory authorities on all drilling and wells matters
  • Support to the reservoir engineer for well value creation & realisation activities
  • Works closely with the well operations lead

Travel Required: Occasional as required

Main Tasks

  • Serica’s Technical Authority for well operations, well integrity and well construction and drilling
  • Assurance of the well control incident response plan
  • Approves well construction and intervention programs, including equipment specification and selection and wireline and coiled tubing modelling
  • Approves cost estimates and cost control for well intervention activities
  • Approve well construction and intervention program amendments, and dispensations to policy
  • Maintains the best practices in engineering
  • Perform post-analyses and benchmarking studies, ensure learning’s are incorporated into future well work programs
  • Assure adequate third party quality assurance and quality control
  • Recommend and instigate engineering studies to improve well work operational performance
  • Ensure appropriate assurance and review of the well intervention design and work plan
  • Approve end of well reports 

Professional Skills

Knowledge in the following:
  • Relevant wells legislation and industry standards
  • Core well construction skills (casing & tubing design, zonal isolation and barrier requirements, fluids, and construction well control
  • Well intervention and pressure control
  • Knowledge of integrity management and well examination
  • Audit and assurance processes
  • Application of petroleum engineering to support value creation and realisation
  • Demonstrable HSEQ leadership
  • Significant oilfield experience in an engineering capacity
  • Significant experience in all aspects well life cycle integrity tasks, including managing Wells operations
  • Offshore operational drilling experience on a wide variety of rigs and well types, and rig based work-over operations
  • Aptitude to innovate and be open to new ideas, networking and global technical knowledge sharing
