Role Purpose

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the Environmental and Compliance Advisor (ECA) has responsibility for the identification and management of environmental risks, regulatory compliance, and developing and driving continuous improvement in environmental performance. Working in a small, flexible team, the ECA should be willing to support colleagues with Health and Safety related projects and tasks occasionally.

Main Tasks

Please note that this list of duties is not exhaustive and employees will be expected to undertake reasonable duties commensurate of their role and grade.
  • Work closely with operations, projects and wells teams, to identify and mange environmental issues
  • Ensuring the company management system is compliant with all HSE legislation
  • Being the focal point for all environmental permits and consents via the Portal Environmental Tracking System (PETS)
  • Managing the company Oil Pollution Emergency Plans (OPEP’s) and ensuring they are updated when necessary through the CAP Dashboard
  • Maintaining compliance with all requirements of EU ETS
  • Collation of data and preparation of reports for external and internal stakeholders
  • Collating performance data and reporting via EEMS and the company’s Environmental Data Management System

Professional Skills

  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems within the UK regulatory framework
  • A sound working knowledge and experience in environmental related UK legislation (onshore and offshore) and industry best practices
  • Experience in a similar Environmental Advisor type role within the Oil and Gas Industry is essential
  • Significant experience with ETSWAP and EU ETS compliance
  • Experience in environmental auditing
  • MAT / SAT system experience and the preparation of environmental permits
  • Operator experience
  • Experience with Weston’s Online and PLANC Manager

Education Requirements

  • Engineering or Science-based Degree qualification.
  • OPEP Level 3 trained or be willing to complete the course
