Role Purpose

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this is a key role in delivery of plant maintenance. The Maintenance Specialists are a small team of resource deployed to deliver asset maintenance work. Specialist roles will be arranged by technical skill discipline.
The role purpose is to:
  • Lead the planning of preventive and corrective high complexity/low frequency maintenance,
    Support maintenance planners with non-routine corrective and breakdown intrusive maintenance,
    Provide execution support to offshore maintenance team,
    Manage performance of maintenance vendors and quality assurance for maintenance delivery.
Maintenance Specialists will be Single Point Accountability (SPA) for high complexity maintenance work within assigned discipline.  Working closely with the asset Maintenance Planners & Scheduler and Maintenance Team Leader colleagues, the Maintenance Specialist is accountable for ensuring coordination, planning, execution readiness per gate criteria and closeout for preventive and corrective maintenance. The Specialist roles are arranged in the following disciplines:
  • Static Mechanical & Engine equipment
  • Rotating Equipment & machinery
  • Electrical & Instrument equipment & systems

Travel Required: Occasional offshore visits as required

Main Tasks

  • Demonstrate personal leadership and exemplary safety behaviors at all times
  • Deliver full compliance with the Serica HSE Rules and Site Safety Standards
  • Agree defined activity Statement of Requirements with the engineering team and issue to vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with practices and procedures contained within Serica’s Operating Management System (OMS):
    • Ensure that quality work packs are supplied for planned maintenance work
    • Ensure applicable GoC certification prepared prior to work execution
    • Ensure alignment and integration between maintenance execution and CoW planning
    • Ensure any changes to plant or equipment are subject to the appropriate level of Management of Change before putting into service
  • With the Maintenance Planner develop a CAP plant Maintenance and Intrusive Inspection 20Q schedule
  • Review the Maintenance activity plan & schedule and provide input to Turnaround Planning and Scheduling Process
  • Plan activities in compliance with the Serica Integrated Field Planning Gate Criteria and attend planning meetings to provide assurances on gate compliance (8Q/12W/6W)
  • Complete Deep Dive Sessions with key stakeholders to give assurance on job readiness
  • Execute maintenance work scopes ensuring vendors are fully aligned with expectations of quality and performance
  • Monitor and support offshore execution to ensure successful completion of the work scopes
  • Lead After Action reviews including key internal and external stakeholders, as necessary
  • On request, support Maintenance Planner in obtaining information to build routine task job-plans
  • Review maintenance vendor reports and ensure appropriate follow up CO work-orders are input into Maximo in accordance with Serica standards and scheduled accordingly
  • Assist resolving vendor issues
  • Provide feedback to Contract Managers on Vendor and Supplier performance and provide input to contractor performance meetings
  • Review PMR content for correctness to ensure activity optimisation
  • Pro-actively support schedulers with the identification and re-scheduling/ resourcing of potential and overdue maintenance activities
  • Identify gaps in critical spares and notify Materials Management staff of any shortfall
  • Learn from operations and maintenance experience and share learning’s in pursuit of improvement
  • Initiate/ Review Management of Change (MoC) where required

Professional Skills

  • Experienced as a Maintenance Practitioner in a technician, supervisory or technical role
  • Experience in discipline engineering, maintenance and activity planning
  • Experience in managing multivendor scopes of work
  • Has knowledge of/and demonstrated project management skills
  • Proven maintenance management system (Maximo) skills and Work Management knowledge
  • Competent in reading technical drawings
  • Knowledge of the Safety Case Verification process, Safety Critical Elements, Written Schemes of Examination and Performance Standards
  • Understanding of both Asset and Operational integrity as it applies to the on and offshore oil and gas industry
  • Competent in use of industry norm IT applications: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc
  • Experience of Offshore or On Site working environment preferred
  • Knowledge of design principles and engineering standards, in particular for UKCS compliance would be an advantage
  • Experience in late-life asset management
  • Knowledge of offshore process systems and inspection techniques

Education Requirements

  • Minimum HNC qualified in a relevant engineering discipline OR equivalent experience/qualifications in a Technician Role

  • Chartered Engineer in a relevant discipline
  • Current offshore survival, medical and MIST certification
